About us
Sweeney's Hotel, a cornerstone of Dungloe life since the late 1840s, has been meticulously transformed into a modern luxury destination, preserving its rich history while offering top-tier amenities. Established by John (Johndy) and Mary Sweeney in the mid-19th century, the hotel has long been a symbol of excellence in northwest Donegal.
Following extensive renovations by cousins PJ and Kevin Boyle, Sweeneys Hotel has reemerged as a luxurious destination. The hotel boasts 16 bespoke adult-only bedrooms and suites, with rooms in the original building paying tribute to notable Donegal figures, including the Daniel O'Donnell Suite, Margo O'Donnell Suite, Gay Byrne Suite, Moya Brennan Suite, and the Packie Bonner Room. The Glas Restaurant, a ballroom, and Courtyard with a retractable roof have all been finished to the highest standard
